FOCE has just received a grant proposal for an amount of 12,171,488.21 € for its SunH2Bus project in the province of Valladolid, which was submitted to the IDAE (Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving).

SunH2Bus obtained the third-best score by the IDAE, with more than 170 other projects submitted.

SunH2Bus consists of a sustainable mobility project based on green hydrogen (H2) with a budget of over 23 million euros, pioneer in Valladolid and Castilla y Leon, which will promote a public transport system based on energy self-sufficiency through the generation of renewable energies.

This green hydrogen (H2) production project is entirely developed by FOCE and is intended to supply a fleet of urban buses in Valladolid, which will stop emissions of about 3,500 tons of CO2 per year.

The project consists in the construction of a plant to produce green hydrogen from renewable energies, located in the municipality of Castromonte, in the province of Valladolid. The surplus generated can be accumulated by means of a hydrogen storage system.

The SunH2Bus project has the following objectives:

- Decarbonization: reduction of CO2 emissions to zero.

- Improvement of air quality in the urban area.

- Contribution to the development of the rural environment, with employment generation.

- Deployment of R&D&I in Spain, with retention and generation of talent.

- Attraction of foreign investment for the internationalization of the project.

The MOVES Singular Projects II Program is part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union through the Next Generation EU Fund.
